The fourth night of Hanukkah at The Temple, with the ADL, the AJC Black/Jewish Coalition, local rabbis, elected officials and interfaith allies from Ebenezer Baptist Church. AIC was one of thirteen named community partners.
The fourth night of Hanukkah 5782, and Atlanta was one of eight cities marking it under the Shine a Light on Antisemitism campaign.
The Temple hosted, at 6:30 on the Wednesday evening — a limited masked in-person gathering that was also live-streamed, so people at home could light their own menorahs along with the room. A speaker from the ADL, the AJC Black/Jewish Coalition, local rabbis, elected officials, musicians, and interfaith allies from the historic Ebenezer Baptist Church, the Episcopal Diocese of Atlanta and the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. A young adult social hour followed.
Thirteen Atlanta organizations were named community partners of the campaign, AIC among them. Four days later the second Atlanta celebration ran at the MJCCA.
