AIC runs on people who show up. If you have a few hours and want them to count for something, tell us what you can do and when you are free.

What this actually is

Ten jobs. Two of them come first.

AIC is grassroots, all-volunteer, and self-funded. Nobody draws a salary, so the work happens because people take a piece of it. Most of the jobs below hang off something already on the calendar — an event, a delegation, a deadline. Two of them do not exist yet, and that is the job.

We match people to events and projects as they come up. The more specific your answers, the better the match.

  • The two we need most: social media, and fundraising. Both can be done from anywhere.
  • Then volunteer coordination — remote, email, a couple of hours a week. It is the one we are trying to fill first.
  • Two are programs looking for an owner — a webinar series, and a monthly book club on Zoom.
  • The rest is mostly event-based. An evening, a few times a season, counts.

Who can volunteer with AIC?

Anyone who wants to help. AIC is a grassroots coalition, and its volunteers include synagogue, church, and civic partners from across metro Atlanta. Tell us what you can do and when you are free, and pick the role closest to how you would like to help.

How much time does it take?

As little as you have. Much of the work is event-based — an evening, a few times a season, counts — and some roles ask only a couple of hours a week.

What do volunteers actually do?

Ten roles. Two we need most: running AIC’s social media, and fundraising — meeting people in your own network and making the ask. Then volunteer coordination, which is remote and runs on email. Two are programs waiting for someone to own them: a webinar series, and a monthly book club over Zoom. The rest hang off events — tabling and reception, hosting and transporting visiting speakers, bringing an invitation to your own community, event photography, and mission logistics support.

Do I have to live in Atlanta?

Not for every role. Most of the hands-on work is at events in metro Atlanta, but five roles can be done from anywhere: social media, fundraising outreach, the webinar series, the book club, and volunteer coordination. Tell us where you are and how you’d like to help, and we’ll find the right fit.

Do I need experience?

No. Pick the role closest to how you want to help and describe it in your own words on the form. The more specific your answers, the better we can match you to the right event or project.
