Education & Briefings

Since 2018 AIC has hosted more than 230 programs. Most are evenings built the same way: someone who knows the subject firsthand, a room somewhere in metro Atlanta, and a couple of hours for the community to hear it and press on it.

Who we bring

Amichai Chikli, Israel’s Minister for Diaspora Affairs and Combating Antisemitism, came to Toco Hills to talk about what is changing between Israel and world Jewry. Knesset member Ohad Tal — a tank commander before he was a legislator — gave an insider account of the 12-Day War with Iran. Lt. Col. (Res.) Amos Davidowitz spoke in a Milton living room about the moral weight of command under fire. Bassem Eid, the Palestinian human-rights activist, took an Atlanta audience’s questions on Israel and the Palestinians. Lana Melman traced how boycott campaigns work through the entertainment industry, at Temple Beth Tikvah in Roswell and at Temple Emanu-El of Atlanta. Journalist Sam Sokol joined over Zoom on what Putin’s war has done to Ukrainian Jewry.

In May 2026, Sami Steigmann drew a full house at the Chabad Israeli Center of Atlanta, in partnership with Israel Brief. Born in 1939 and a survivor of Nazi medical experimentation as a child, he has spoken to more than 250,000 people since 2008. He brought his E.M.E.T. framework — Educate, Motivate, Empower, Tolerance — and this: “I am not what happened to me. I am what I choose to be.”

Some evenings are panels. Justice Beyond Borders seated Arnold Roth, whose daughter Malki was murdered in the 2001 Sbarro bombing, alongside Kathleen Luken, Tal Hartuv, and constitutional attorney Mark Goldfeder, with Cheryl Dorchinsky moderating and the Rhode Island Coalition for Israel, the American Jewish Alliance, and The Mattathias Project co-sponsoring. Jewish On Campus brought families and neighbors into one room over what students face in Atlanta schools and universities.

Re-Discovering the Land of Israel

AIC also teaches the country itself. Our virtual tour series walks the community through Israel a region at a time — Haifa, Eilat, Masada, ancient Caesarea, the Hula Valley during the great bird migration, the Golan Heights, and the old and new sides of Tel Aviv and Jaffa. Those tours, and recordings of many past briefings, sit free on AIC’s YouTube channel, so an evening in Atlanta keeps working long after the room empties.

Where we meet

AIC has no building. Every program happens in a synagogue, a church, a community center, a hotel ballroom, or a member’s living room, and AIC contracts licensed armed security for each public event it holds. Venue addresses ship in the registration confirmation instead of on the public page. Gathering openly and safely is part of the work now, and it costs real money out of the same budget that pays for the programming.
