Questions About Joining
What’s the difference between joining and donating?
A membership gives you something back: the Mitzpe Institute, the members’ side of mitzpe.org, and every Israel Up Close talk free, for as long as you’re a member, from $9 a month. There are no perks attached to a gift, so every dollar is tax-deductible to the extent the law allows. Both pay for the same work.
Give without joiningHow much of my membership is tax-deductible?
Everything except the value of what you get back, and each level says its figure in one line. For a Member or a Sustaining Member that’s all of it: we put no value on your Mitzpe Institute membership, Israel Up Close, the Quarterly Briefing, or a member’s place at our online events. The Leadership Circle includes two in-person events a year at half price, so those come off. The figure on the page is the figure on your receipt.
What is the AIC Members’ Town Hall?
Once a year, every member, at every level, sits down with Cheryl and Uri. An hour on Microsoft Teams: the year with the numbers, what’s coming, and then your questions. Free, and every level is in the same room. We record it and email members the link afterwards.
The Members’ Town HallHow do I get into the Mitzpe Institute once I’ve joined?
Give it about 15 minutes after you join. Then go to mitzpe.org/account and sign in with the same email you joined with, and a sign-in link arrives by email. If it doesn’t, write to us at Shalom@atlantaisrael.org and we’ll sort it out.
mitzpe.org/account (opens in a new tab)Monthly or yearly: what’s the difference?
Monthly renews every month until you cancel. Yearly is one payment for the year, and it ends on its own unless you tick the box to renew it automatically. Either way you get the same level, and paying yearly costs less over the year.
How do I cancel a membership or sponsorship?
Email us at development@atlantaisrael.org, or reply to any receipt we’ve sent you, and we’ll stop the next charge. You keep everything, Mitzpe Institute included, through the end of the month or year you’ve already paid for. A yearly payment without auto-renew has nothing to cancel: it ends on its own after a year.
