Two missions to Israel with AIC, and the same thing held both times: it shows up. Not with a statement (those are cheap) but with the work — the briefings that actually educate a community, the advocacy that puts Israel into Atlanta's civic life, the volunteers it lands on the ground in Israel (I was one of them, twice). And you go on your own dime: these are self-funded volunteer missions, not a sponsored trip — you buy your own ticket and put in the work. Education, advocacy, presence, run week after week since 2018. Cheryl's team built it program by program. From where we sit at Mitzpe, the groups worth backing are the ones doing that unglamorous work. Few do it this consistently. AIC does.
