Our work
Envoys, ambassadors, ministers, a Holocaust survivor, families who lost someone to terror. AIC brings them to synagogues, churches, living rooms, and hotel ballrooms, and online for anyone who can’t be there.
Education and briefings
AIC was at the Georgia Capitol for HB 30, the law that gave Georgia a definition of antisemitism. It has marched in Washington and rallied in Atlanta, and more than sixty organizations have put their names on its programs.
Advocacy and mobilization
Direct-aid missions since October 7. In July 2025, right after the twelve-day war with Iran, volunteers sat with wounded soldiers, gave blood at Magen David Adom, and cooked for nearly 200 soldiers.

The Kosher Duck Revolution is AIC’s joyful front door: kosher-themed rubber ducks hidden for strangers to find, each with a QR code that drops a pin on a sightings map. The ducks have turned up in eighteen countries, and the stories behind the finds are at kosherduckrevolution.com.
Membership
AIC membership opened in October 2026. Every level, at both doors, comes with a Mitzpe Institute membership.
Our history
Cheryl wants Atlanta to see Black Forest, the documentary about the machete attack Kay Wilson survived, with Wilson in the room, and for a while she can’t find anywhere to show it. Rabbi Tendler offers to host it at Congregation Beth Jacob and suggests she make an organization out of it. The US premiere, AIC’s first program, follows on 31 January 2019.
With the rooms shut, AIC moves online: web talks with Raheel Raza and Bassem Eid, a Sigd celebration, and live virtual tours of Israel with guide David Sussman that keep people connected to the country when nobody can fly.
Days after the May 2021 ceasefire, AIC helps pull together a solidarity rally in Midtown with more than forty Atlanta organizations, congregations, and schools behind it. That list is what the word coalition in our name means.
After two years of touring Israel by video, AIC goes in person: ten days from Jerusalem to the Dead Sea, led by Cheryl with guide David Sussman.
Within weeks of the Hamas attack, Cheryl is in Israel volunteering with Momentum, and AIC has gone back ever since: five direct-aid missions and more than 200 volunteer days on the ground.
AIC invites everyone to join the Kosher Duck Revolution, the kosher-themed rubber ducks Cheryl has been hiding around town and on cruises for strangers to find. It grows into a global initiative of AIC, with its own sightings map, chapters, and shop.
Right after the 12-day war, AIC volunteers land in Israel for Hearts United, Boots on the Ground, an eleven-day relief mission that starts July 14. That summer they also cook a barbecue for reservists at an IDF base in Judea and Samaria.
The Mitzpe Institute, home of the Israel Brief, becomes AIC’s educational program, and AIC membership opens to individuals and organizations. Analysis you can check, and a coalition that acts on it.
Leadership
Cheryl Dorchinsky
Founder & Executive Director
Cheryl Dorchinsky wanted to show the documentary Black Forest in Atlanta with terror survivor Kay Wilson. Rabbi Yitz Tendler hosted it at Congregation Beth Jacob and suggested she build an organization. They founded the Atlanta Israel Coalition in 2018, and she has led it ever since. That screening, on 31 January 2019, was its first program. She left two decades of well-paid work in corporate human resources and talent management to do this, and draws no salary. AIC has hosted more than 231 programs, rallies, and international initiatives.
She led a multi-faith Zionist mission to Israel and ran a virtual Israel tour series during the pandemic. In 2021 she organized Atlanta’s pro-Israel solidarity rallies with then–Consul General Anat Sultan-Dadon. After October 7 she led AIC’s response. In January 2024 she took a wartime solidarity mission to Haifa and gave Rambam’s underground emergency hospital a mural painted by Atlantans.
In 2023 the World Zionist Organization gave her its Zionist Legacy Award. She writes for JNS and the Atlanta Jewish Times, blogs at The Times of Israel, and speaks around the country on grassroots coalition-building and on antizionism in schools and progressive spaces.
