An essay contest built on Yossi Klein Halevi's Letters to My Palestinian Neighbor, open to anyone 14 and up, culminating in facilitated conversations with the author.
Speaker
Yossi Klein Halevi
Author, Letters to My Palestinian Neighbor
Entrants wrote a letter — from their own position, or from an imagined Israeli or Palestinian one — in response to Yossi Klein Halevi’s Letters to My Palestinian Neighbor and its epilogue of Palestinian replies. Open to anyone aged fourteen and over.
The contest closed into facilitated Zoom conversations that Halevi joined, held before the winners were named. Three prizes: $360 for best overall, and two $180 awards for excellence in analysis. AIC ran it with the Jewish Community Relations Council of Minnesota and the Dakotas, and handed out copies of the book to groups that got people writing.
