Atlanta's Holocaust remembrance ceremony, moved onto Zoom in 2020 by the Achim/Gate City Lodge of B'nai B'rith with Rabbi Peter Berg of The Temple. It was on AIC's calendar.

Atlanta normally holds this in the rotunda of the Georgia State Capitol, on a Friday near Yom HaShoah. In 2020 there could be no gathering, so the Achim/Gate City Lodge of B’nai B’rith International, with Rabbi Peter Berg of The Temple, ran it on Zoom instead — noon to three, from people’s homes.

Participants read the names of Holocaust victims along with their ages and the places they died, and were invited to read their own family’s names too. B’nai B’rith International has been the North American sponsor of these ceremonies since 1989; Yad Vashem created them, and every year the project collects more names, so every year it honours more people.

A note on the record: AIC kept this on its calendar and carried it to its community, and the organizers’ own materials do not name AIC among them. The 2023 ceremony returned to the Capitol.
