Fighting Back: Fighting the BDS War in the Entertainment Industry

Lana Melman had just come out with Artists Under Fire: The BDS War Against Celebrities, Jews, and Israel, and the Canadian Antisemitism Education Foundation put her on its Fighting Back web talk series to talk about it. The book puts the boycott, divestment and sanctions campaign on trial. Melman argues that the cultural boycott of Israel uses famous entertainers in a campaign that’s antisemitic at its core, and she draws a straight line from classic antisemitism to antizionism.

She runs Liberate Art, and her subject that afternoon was strategy: how to push back against the BDS war inside the entertainment world.
