Israel was closed to visitors, so AIC took the community there anyway. Five Sunday mornings, one region each, guided live by David Sussman. Free, and built to work for a family watching together.

The Biblical Heartland of Gush Etzion — 21 March. The Path of the Patriarchs, an ancient mikvah, biblical agriculture, Roman roads.

The Holy City of Hebron — 25 April. The tombs of the Patriarchs and Matriarchs, the stairs and city gates where Abraham bought the cave to bury Sarah, and ruins from the First and Second Temple periods.

The Artist Colony of Tzfat — 23 May. The alleyways of the city of Kabbalah, its synagogues, its working artists, and its history ancient and modern.

The Old and the New in Tel Aviv and Jaffa — 6 June. Israel’s financial capital, its beaches, and the room where independence was declared.

The Golan Heights — 27 June. Extinct volcanoes, Israel’s highest mountain, and a border. Major (Res.) Yaakov Selavan joined this one to talk about the politics of the ground he lives on.

Recordings of the first three tours are on AIC’s YouTube channel. Run with the Consulate General of Israel to the Southeast, the Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta, Herut, and the Evans Family Foundation.
