President, The Louis D. Brandeis Center for Human Rights Under Law

She began her legal career in Israel, clerking at the Supreme Court for Deputy President Justice Menachem Elon. She is a past president of the American Association of Jewish Lawyers and Jurists, which gave her its Pursuit of Justice Award in January 2020.

Alyza Lewin came to Fighting Back as president of the Louis D. Brandeis Center for Human Rights Under Law. The center does research, education, and legal advocacy against the resurgence of antisemitism on college campuses. It trains students to understand their legal rights, and it teaches administrators what works against racism and antisemitism on campus.

So for her Fighting Back web talk the question was the practical one. What can actually be done about Jew-hatred on campus? She took it on at 2 p.m. Eastern on Thursday, March 24, 2022, with questions to follow her talk.

Three weeks earlier AIC had hosted its own panel on the same problem, Jewish On Campus. The Canadian Antisemitism Education Foundation ran this one, and AIC co-sponsored it alongside the Brandeis Center itself.
